Saturday night Sprint siblings Jake and Cate organized a fundraiser where friends came together for dinner and fun. 9th graders from several schools learned about Sprint to Cite Soleil from Sam Shapiro and kids donated generously towards the program. It is amazing what teenagers can do! Thank you to Sports Engine for hosting this event at their office- what a cool spot to come together!
The Sprint kids received a special visit from Cite Soleil's congressman Lemaire Pierre during yesterday mornings training session. Pierre took the time to thank the Sprint to Cite Soleil team and coaching staff for their hard work. He also encourage the Sprint kids to continue to work hard in training and at school. Thank you Pierre for your support!
The Sprint to Cite Soleil team was lucky enough to have 3 young and inspiring men to coach and photograph the Sprint to Cite Soleil program in Haiti. Thank you Jamal Abu-Shamala, Will Deberg, and Mike Cunningham for donating your time to coach, capture, and smile with the kids and families of Cite Soleil.

Sprint to Cite Soleil teamed up with PABS packs, a non for profit organization that gives comfort items to kids in hospitals, to get backpacks to a hospital in Cite Soleil Haiti. When organizations work together great things happen. The kids and families who received packs were so appreciative and happy. Sprint to Cite Soleil is back in Haiti! We are excited to have Coach Will and Coach Jamal with us to run camp this week. Look for pictures and video from our photographer (and slam dunk pro) Mike! The court is painted and we are ready for training! Gen Espwa (Have Hope)!
On Monday, we started the morning touring and visiting the Apparent project, a local organization that places parents in stable jobs to support their families. Then, we visited one of the Sprint coaches’ schools in Cite Soleil and ended the day helping out at a home for sick children. Out of respect, we did not take photos of this home. Overall though, another amazing day!
Happy Haitian Mother's Day! We started the day at an orphanage where we spent the morning making drawing, playing soccer, and enjoying games with the kids. We also made a valuable connection with the head of the orphanage. Then, we had a full afternoon on the Sprint court celebrating mothers of Cite Soleil with music, basketball, and dancing! Lots of singing, laughter, and happiness all around. Gen Espwa!
